On July 1, two more states will ban drivers from talking on a cell phone unless they use a hands-free device. The debate on whether these laws prevent accidents is sure to heat up.
I think a hands-free device is the way to go-- if you have to talk and drive! And always check all surrounding areas as you drive and talk! Be Safe!

What is the difference - having a general conversation with a passenger in your vehicle or using a hands free device? With these comments, then talking while driving should be made ILLEGAL.
People just need to learn how to drive. I ride the trnpk and I-75 daily in florida and always use my bluetooth phone. What about all the people that read the paper, smoke, eat, etc etc while driving. The worst thing is getting on the highway behind some idiot that wants to drive 45 miles an hour, and are afraid to hit the gas. I believe in hands free phone and it should be mandatory. Don't forget the parents who do not know what a seat belt is, kids climbing all over the vehicle. Then there are the ones who do not know where they are going and want to stop in the middle of the highway like they are the only ones there. South Florida is so ugly now, everytime someone drives off the highway they put up a guardrail. Florida is now covered from one end to the other with guard rails. How unsightly. People just need to learn how to drive. If you can't walk and talk! Quit talking..
OK, talking on the phone is distracting........
What about listening to and or singing to the Radio, CD? What about talking to Passenger? Perhaps, singing along with your passenger (s) to the Radio, CD, Ipod or other entertainment device? Are these activities not as equally distracting as a hands-free phone?
Least we forget the NEW NAVIGATIONAL DEVICES = Toy = distraction= CRASH!!! At least one would know the exact 'spot' of the Crash - caused by inattention to Driving.... Damn strait......!!!
Don't you just love how Big Gov. wants to dictate your complete life. What's next only 4 squares of Toilet Paper per sit down?
